At any time of the year, our market is ablaze with colour, well thought-out
displays and an amazing range of plant life. Making all this possible is a team
of dedicated and creative people that live and breathe the passion for creating
a beautiful and vibrant green world.
Tim Bunker—Managing Director
With a family of horticulture pioneers I have grown up with an
appreciation for greenlife. After completing a business degree majoring in
accounting and information systems at the University of Southern
Queensland, and a few years with a large corporate, I joined the Nursery
Traders team in 1989.
Over the past two decades I have worked relentlessly to shape and
improve our business. Alternative thinking coupled with finding elegant
and simple solutions to complicated problems has shaped the Nursery
Traders’ success so far, particularly in the sustainability arena.
My mantra is to always look towards the future, find where we need to
be in five years’ time and get us there immediately. I cherish
the versatility of each day at Nursery Traders, variations the time of day
or the seasons bring, the arrival of new products to the market and the
fusion of clients with diverse requirements—all resulting in an ever
Outside of my work life, my passions are varied and
include interest in ancient history, architecture, cycling, elegant
design, nature, photography and travel. The thought of working with my
talented partner to bring new plant varieties to the international
marketplace, and my two beautiful, thoughtful and caring daughters, bring
a smile to my face every time.
Clair Forshaw— Administration Officer
Since joining Nursery Traders in 2008, I’ve upheld Nursery Traders’
30-year tradition of paying its supply partners fortnightly, on time every
time. With a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies and broad practical
experience in administration, accounting, and business systems, I make it
my mission to ensure that the crucial function of administration and
accounting runs smoothly.
My other passion for life comes from my family and especially our young
daughter. We enjoy camping and beach holidays together but at home I love
pottering around the garden or immersing myself in the pages of a good
In 20013 Margaret Mackay completed 30 years of distinguished service with Nursery Traders.
Margaret was one of the Nursery Traders founding team members in 1983 and over the years
she could be relied upon to use her administrative and bookkeeping skills to ensure that
every cent was accounted for and our standholders and suppliers were paid on time every time!!
Although she retired from full time work in 2008 Margaret continues to ‘crunch the numbers’ by
assisting with our general ledger processing. When not pouring over figures Margaret still
enjoys her passion for car rallying and is a stalwart in the Brisbane Sporting Car Club.
Charmaine Pryke—Corporate Sales Manager
I bring to my role at Nursery Traders over 26 years’ experience in the
horticulture industry ranging from plant hire, to running a small retail
nursery/florist business, production management and customer service. My
horticultural training at Gatton College coupled with my industry
experience, provided me with insightful plant knowledge and the ability to
source client requirements from a wide network of our supply partners. I
love the vibrancy of our market and the ever-changing nature of our
When away from Nursery Traders, I enjoy outings on our
boat—the relaxation anchor for me and my family! Obviously I’m a garden
lover, but prefer the cottage garden and not a formal one. I adore
camellias, azaleas and magnolias and my all time favourite is a
bolusanthus which I have planted in the garden of every home I’ve ever
Customer service and market team
Linda Gonsalves – Customer service team leader
In my role I draw on ten years of experience with the company to ensure
that our clients receive the best attention and advice when it comes to
their shopping experience in the market. My focus is on providing the
highest standard of personal service. I enjoy the interaction with our
clients, many of whom have shopped with us since Nursery Traders opened
its doors in 1983.
My other passions in life are gardening, of course, and our family
activities. Supporting our daughter who is a successful ice skater means I
am generally not too far from an ice rink! Otherwise I am in the kitchen
pursuing my other passion—cooking.
With over 21 years in the horticulture industry, including experience
at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne and other horticultural and
landscape-related businesses, I adore the world of horticulture and
approach every day with renewed enthusiasm for it. Nursery Traders allows
me the flexibility to juggle life with my young family and while I have a
very successful sales background in horticultural products I am currently
focused on merchandising in the market and on providing awesome service to
our cash ‘n’ carry clients.
My family life is my other passion. With
two small children, house renovations galore, plenty of gardening and one
very cute dog, my time away from Nursery Traders is certainly a
challenging but an enjoyable ride.
