We are immensely proud of our Queensland- grown, world-class business and the recognition we've been honoured to receive from industry, government and business over the past few years.

Nursery Traders has won some of the nation's most prestigious awards and accreditations. The awards honour our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, and our work to minimise our business's impact on the environment, including:

• Reaching 98% water savings in 2011, there are many months on the Nursery Traders calendar today where we use no potable water to irrigate our entire 12,000 square metre nursery.
• Commissioning Queensland's largest private installation of solar panels in 2010, today we provide more green power to Australia's grid than most corporations of any size.
• Since January 2011 our waste-minimising activities have reduced our business waste by 50%.
• Through our combined sustainability projects we are targeting a bold new goal: becoming Australia's first zero footprint company zero water, zero power, zero waste.

 

	Banksias Award Finalist 2012—GE Innovation Award for Individual Excellence Nursery Traders Managing Director Tim Bunker was recognised for his pioneering efforts, continuous drive and contribution to achieving water, energy and waste reductions on Nursery Traders' site.
	Prime Minister's Water Wise Award 2011 In 2011 we received the nation's most prized award for water efficiency excellence by commercial and industrial water users. The judges commended Nursery Traders for its 'strong commitment to water efficiency for nearly two decades' and a 'broader approach to water efficiency to deliver triple bottom line outcomes'
	savewater! awards© Finalist 2011 The savewater! alliance awarded us a finalist place in the large business category of their national awards program for our broad focus on sustainability and nearly 20 years' commitment to water, energy and waste efficiency.
	Banksias Award Finalist 2011 In 2011 we won two finalist places in the prestigious Banksia Environmental Awards—the nation's most prized environmental awards—in the Small-to-Medium Business and Clean Technology categories.
	Banksias People's Choice Award Finalist 2011 We were also chosen from the Banksia Awards contenders to participate as one of 9 nominees in the Banksia People's Choice Awards—winning a placement in Top 5 achievers
	Premier's Sustainability Award 2011 Winner We won Queensland's Premier's Sustainability Award in the Industrial Eco-efficiency ClimateSmart category for implementing seven sustainability projects. The finalists in this field included corporate heavyweights Downer EDI Mining and Rio Tinto Alcan.
	Premier's Sustainability Award 2011 Finalist In addition to our 2011 win we also won a finalist place in Queensland's Premier's Sustainability Award in the Small Business category in 2011 for our achievements in adopting whole-of-business sustainable practices.
	Queensland Government's 81st ecoBiz Partner in 2011 In 2011, following a stringent review and assessment process, we became the 81st partner of the Queensland Government's ecoBiz program for our proven performance as an environmentally responsible business.
	The Lord Mayor's Business Award for Sustainability 2010 We won the Brisbane Lord Mayor's Business Award for Sustainability in Business category in 2010 for our sustainability achievements.
	Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Regional Finalist 2010 Our Managing Director Tim Bunker was invited to participate in this prestigious global business awards program, winning a northern region finalist place in 2010.
	Premier's Sustainability Awards Finalist 2010 Nursery Traders won a finalist place in Queensland's 2010 Premier's Sustainability Awards.
	NIASA accreditation In 2010 we became the first greenlife market in Australia to obtain NIASA (Nursery Industry Accreditation Scheme Australia) Accreditation—which provides customers and the industry with an assurance that the business they are dealing with is committed to the highest quality business practices, consistency and reliability in delivering service, professional standards and dedication to continuous improvement.
	EcoHort certification 2010 Nursery Traders became the first greenlife market in Australia to be certified under the nursery industry's EcoHort program for environmentally responsible business practice. This program provides businesses with the resources to ensure they can demonstrate to industry, government and the community their sound environmental and natural resource stewardship and compliance with the diverse range of environmental legislation.
